The Otter Oasis Shares Engine is one of the core participation layers within the ecosystem. It has been designed to connect Digital Participation Shares with Share Points, Active Membership and the Rewards Pool while also helping fund the wider Otter Oasis structure.
The current model is deliberately different from the earlier Reward Power concept. Shares no longer create percentage-based Reward Power. Instead, the system uses a much clearer structure: 5 Shares = 1 Share Point (SP), and an Active Membership tier determines the current monthly reference value applied to those Share Points.
This guide explains how the Shares Engine is designed to work, what Digital Participation Shares represent, what they do not represent, and where funds from primary Share participation are allocated.
What Is The Otter Oasis Shares Engine?
The Shares Engine is the part of the Otter Oasis ecosystem built around Digital Participation Shares. These are blockchain-based participation units designed for use inside the ecosystem.
They are not traditional company shares. Holding them does not make somebody a shareholder in Otter Oasis and does not provide company equity, voting rights, ownership of the Treasury, ownership of land or buildings, or a claim over any future Otter Oasis Holiday Park.
The word “Shares” describes their role as digital participation units within the ecosystem. That distinction is important because the system is intended to provide participation utility rather than represent ownership of the underlying business or physical assets.
A Maximum Primary Supply Of 500,000 Shares
The current Otter Oasis model sets a lifetime maximum primary supply of 500,000 Digital Participation Shares. That limit applies to Shares issued through the primary ecosystem structure.
A defined maximum supply makes the scale of the participation layer easier to understand. Rather than leaving the number open-ended, the system has a clear ceiling for the primary supply.
However, a maximum supply should not be confused with a promise of value, scarcity-driven price growth or guaranteed demand. Digital Participation Shares are designed around their role within Otter Oasis, and participation still carries risk.

How Shares Become Share Points
The current calculation starts with a simple conversion: 5 Shares = 1 Share Point (SP).
For example, 25 Shares equal 5 SP, 50 Shares equal 10 SP and 100 Shares equal 20 SP. Share Points provide a straightforward way for the system to calculate the monthly reference associated with an Active Membership tier.
This replaces the older Reward Power approach previously described on Otter Oasis. There is no need to calculate percentage boosters or combine several multipliers to understand the basic Shares model.
Importantly, somebody can hold Digital Participation Shares without maintaining a Membership. The Shares do not disappear simply because a Membership is inactive.
How Active Membership Connects To Shares
Although Shares can be held without Membership, the current monthly SP reward calculation requires an Active Membership. Each Membership tier has its own monthly reference rate per SP.
- Starter: $0.15 per SP/month
- Plus: $0.20 per SP/month
- Basic: $0.30 per SP/month
- Pro: $0.35 per SP/month
- Premium: $0.50 per SP/month
The Membership tier therefore determines the current reference rate used with a participant's Share Points. Membership also has its own monthly price and Community Booster Loyalties (CBL), which are explained separately in our Active Membership guide.
A Simple Shares And Membership Example
Suppose a participant holds 100 Digital Participation Shares. At the current conversion rate, those 100 Shares equal 20 SP.
If that participant has an active Basic Membership, the current reference is $0.30 per SP per month. Twenty SP multiplied by $0.30 gives a $6 monthly reference calculation.
If the same 20 SP were connected to an active Premium Membership, the current $0.50 per SP reference would produce a $10 monthly reference calculation.
These examples demonstrate how the system calculates reference values. They are not guaranteed monthly returns. Actual claimable rewards depend on the Rewards Pool, amounts credited under the system and the applicable rules at the time.

Where Primary Share Funds Go
The Shares Engine is also a funding layer for the wider ecosystem. Under the current model, funds from primary Digital Participation Shares use the same allocation structure as Membership payments:
- 40% Rewards
- 10% Treasury
- 10% Bonds & Yield
- 35% Park Fund
- 5% Operations
This means primary Share participation is designed to support several parts of Otter Oasis at the same time. The Rewards allocation supports the Rewards Pool, the Treasury provides a project-controlled reserve layer, Bonds & Yield provides a productive-capital layer, the Park Fund is dedicated to the long-term physical park vision, and Operations supports the costs of developing and running the ecosystem.
These layers have different jobs. In particular, the Treasury and Park Fund should not be treated as the same thing. The Park Fund is the dedicated funding layer for the future physical park vision.
You can see the wider allocation model in Where Every Dollar Goes In Otter Oasis.
How The Rewards Pool Fits In The Otter Oasis Shares Engine
The Rewards Pool is important because the monthly SP figures are reference calculations rather than fixed promises. A reference calculation helps show how the current system is designed to account for participation, but it does not create a guaranteed payment by itself.
Actual claimable amounts depend on what has been credited to the Rewards Pool and the rules operating within the ecosystem. That is why we avoid describing the SP rates as guaranteed yield or guaranteed investment returns.
The same principle applies to the current Eco Ranger reward reference. Otter Oasis is being designed around identifiable funding sources and reward rules rather than simply promising a return regardless of what the ecosystem produces.
Blockchain Transparency And Base
The Otter Oasis ecosystem is being built on Base, an Ethereum Layer 2 network. Using blockchain infrastructure gives the project a way to record digital assets and on-chain activity transparently while retaining compatibility with the wider Ethereum ecosystem.
Public blockchain records can make relevant on-chain transactions and wallet activity independently viewable. However, blockchain transparency does not remove financial, smart-contract, market or project risk.
Readers who want to understand the network itself can visit the official Base website.
Shares Do Not Mean Ownership
This is one of the most important points in the entire Shares Engine.
Digital Participation Shares are not company equity. They do not provide voting rights in Otter Oasis, proportional ownership of project-controlled wallets, ownership of the Treasury or Park Fund, or rights to land, buildings or future physical assets.
They also should not be interpreted as a promise that a future Holiday Park will be built. The physical Otter Oasis park remains a long-term vision. No statement in this article means that land has been acquired or that planning permission has been secured.
The Shares Engine should therefore be understood for what it is: a digital participation system within the wider Otter Oasis ecosystem.
Where The Otter Oasis Shares Engine Stands Today
Otter Oasis is currently in its Foundation Building Stage. The Shares Engine and its app interface have been developed as part of that work, but the app has never been publicly released and nobody has participated in the live Shares system.
That matters when reading older Otter Oasis material. Earlier versions of the concept used Reward Power, efficiency percentages and other mechanics that are no longer part of the current design. Those older mechanics should not be treated as current system rules.
The Foundation Building Stage gives us the opportunity to simplify the structure, test the different layers and document them properly before public participation begins.
Why The Otter Oasis Shares Engine Matters
The current Shares Engine has a clearer purpose than the earlier model. Digital Participation Shares establish participation units, every five Shares create one SP for the current calculation, and an Active Membership determines the monthly SP reference rate.
At the same time, primary Share funds are distributed across Rewards, Treasury, Bonds & Yield, Park Fund and Operations rather than serving a single purpose.
None of this removes risk or guarantees a financial return. Instead, the aim is to make the rules, allocations and role of each layer understandable before the ecosystem reaches public participation.
